Quality at C&S starts with having a good calibration system in place and our system is MIL-STD-45662A and MIL-I-45208 compliant. We have more than 240 various types of micrometers including anvil, blade, disk, groove, inner, outer, indicating, pin and point, ranging up to 14 inches. 

Operators and inspectors have more than 40 calipers active for quick checks. Precision air spindle gauges ranging in size from 0.0924 to 1.2605 inches are used on a regular basis. Bore gauges used by C&S personnel will accurately gauge up to 6.125 inches. 

C&S also has an ample supply of ring gauges varying in size from 0.0900 to 1.8010 inches. Dial indicators are used that will gauge up to 0.00005 inches. Currently, C&S personnel are capable of measuring threads from 0.0496 to 3.875 inches in diameter and up to 80 threads per inch. 

Shop personnel and inspectors have two optical comparators and two coordinate measuring machines to assure that we're always capable of getting that precision measurement that our customers require. C&S also uses a digital amplifier that will measure to the millionth accurately. 

Inspection uses a Deltronic Video DVC-115 Video Comparator. It is used to measure dimensions, angles, and contours of parts by means of a video monitor. It provides precision non-contact three-axis measurement capability with 8"X,4"Y, and 4"Z axis stage travel capacity.
