Inspection uses a new Zeiss Eclipse Coordinate Measuring Machine, which can perform perpendicular, parallelism, roundness, angels, true position, cylindricity, coaxiality, GDT Symmetry. The Coordinate Measuring Machine is equipped with an RDS/RST Rotary Dynamic Sensor with RST Probe System. The RDS can reach 20,736 positions (+/- 180E of rotation in both axes-in steps of 2.5E.) The RDS with the RST measures intricate parts that normally require probes configured for many special directions. The RDS allows for probe extensions up to 12 inches. The RST allows for styli up to 3.6 inches in length. 

There is CNC ability to run programs. The CAD system represents each feature in Calypso as a three- dimensional entity. As you add each feature, the CAD representation is updated. Calypso is designed with new concepts for creating, organizing and running part inspections such as feature, characteristic, measurement plan, base alignment, clearance planes, and automatic feature recognition. The Coordinate Measuring Machine is capable of measuring in X axis to 28 inches, Y axis to 28 inches, and Z axis to 22 inches. 

Personnel in the Quality department are trained to use the Zeiss Rondcom 60A roundness machine, which checks roundness and cylindricity. This machine can measure parts with a tolerance in the millionths.
