ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
  2. Program machines (depending on experience level)
  3. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
  4. Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  5. Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  6. Test operation of machines periodically.
  7. Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  8. Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  9. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  10. Maintain activity logs.
  11. Must work in a conscientious fashion, keep work area and equipment neat and clean and practice basic safety habits.
  12. Must be willing to be trained to program and set-up.
  13. Responsible to verify changes to production processes are assessed to confirm that the desired effect has been achieved without adverse effects to product conformity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a machine operator preferred
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Must be able to use basic gauging and tooling applicable to department, such as Indicating Micrometers, Test Indicators, Gauge Blocks, Digital Micrometers, and Depth Micrometers.

2. Performs maintenance as required per the schedules.

3. Should be able to operate all the equipment within the cell.

4. Must be able to adjust machinery as designated by the team leader.

5. Must be able to assist other team members in regards to training within the cell.

6. Must work in a conscientious fashion, keep work area and equipment neat and clean and practice basic safety habits.

7. Must set a good example for coworkers and be a responsible individual.

8. Responsible for checking the quality of parts he/she runs and may shut down the respective machine if a problem arises and notify the team leader.

9. Has authority, as assigned on a case by case basis by the team leader to make program offsets and tool changes. Team leader may remove this right at any time.

10. If designated by the team leader has the authority to perform 1st Article Inspections.

11. If designated by the team leader may be able to program and set-up.

12. Responsible to verify changes to production processes are assessed to confirm that the desired effect has been achieved without adverse effects to product conformity.

C&S Machine is looking for a Kitter to support our production team. The Kitter is responsible for the staging of materials and tooling in pre-production kits and will ensure optimal kitting practices. High level 5S and organizational skills will be crucial for the success in this role.

Below are the duties and responsibilities for the Kitter position:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • All jobs fully kitted prior to the start of setting up production work. Communicate and work with Planning & Scheduling
  • Manager, Manufacturing Manager and Cell Expert Leads.
  • Work with Cell Expert Leads and Manufacturing Manager to determine if a perpetual kit is needed for the job.
  • Once kit is created, review kit for finalization with Cell Expert Leads and Manufacturing Manager.
  • Refer to kitting documentation in IQS for specific cells.
  • Verify all perishables are collected and there is enough for the job. Signal order if needed.
  • Verify all documentation (traveler and set-up sheet) are ready and up to date.
  • Verify that material and any secondary support equipment are available for set-up.
  • Physically collect all perishables and organize kit for delivery.
  • Accurately preset all tooling into holders to be placed directly into machine.
  • Clean and put used tooling away from torn out set-ups.
  • Update set-up sheets for changes per Cell Expert Lead instructions (frees up high level peoples time and keeps them making parts).
  • Available to run misc. plant errands on behalf of production team members, i.e. management track down, cross departmental document / part / information movement needed by the production floor.
  • Fill coolant as needed.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with kit and component related materials as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Working background of machining experience.
Able to use gauging and tooling such as indicating micrometers, test indicators, gauge blocks, and in depths.
