ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
  2. Program machines (depending on experience level)
  3. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
  4. Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  5. Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools. 
  6. Test operation of machines periodically.
  7. Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  8. Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  9. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  10. Maintain activity logs.
  11. Must work in a conscientious fashion, keep work area and equipment neat and clean and practice basic safety habits.
  12. Must be willing to be trained to program and set-up.
  13. Responsible to verify changes to production processes are assessed to confirm that the desired effect has been achieved without adverse effects to product conformity.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a machine operator preferred
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.)

Cell Expert Lead

C&S is looking for a Cell Expert Lead (CEL) to join our team!  The Cell Expert Lead is responsible for using machine tools to make or modify parts. The CEL is responsible for training, creating quality parts and being up to date on all documents, rules and regulations. The CEL will also lead by example and help direct trainees to be successful in their everyday operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

 

  1. 1st Articles, review schedule
  2. Make efficiency changes / recommendations
  3. Engineer change orders / traveler change orders
  4. Initiate job splits to the Manufacturing Admin
  5. Check parts / inspection of parts
  6. Set up and troubleshooting.
  7. Working with the area Operator to optimize production.
  8. Monitoring of plant equipment and working with maintenance ensuring safe, compliant operations.
  9. Assisting other Operators in starting up and/or shutting down various pieces of equipment in the work area.
  10. Sets-up and operates special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill), and/or numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers for fabrication of metallic and non-metallic parts.
  11. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  12. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
  13. Equivalent to a level 4 Operator and is an expert on the cell technology they are managing.
  14. Capable of skill delegation and knowledge transfer and supports in the creating of bench strength within scheduling work center by ensuring at least two Cell Expert resources exist or are in training stages.
  15. Train new Operators on current machines to be able to set up and operate.
  16. Be a role model for other employees.
  17. Reports to personnel as described in the Company’s organizational structure.

QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

High school diploma or G.E.D or equivalent experience in similar role.  State certified Journeyman, preferred.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AS FOLLOWS

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read English and interpret operating and maintenance instructions in machining manuals.  Must be able to speak effectively to groups of customers, employees, and salesmen.

 

MATHMATICAL SKILLS

Must have a strong background in trigonometry and geometry and be able to instill this knowledge to others.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Should be able to solve practical problems of machining theory when the situations arise in the department.  Ability to diplomatically deal with humanistic problems when they occur.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AS FOLLOWS         

Must be able to use all gauging and tooling applicable to department, such as indicating micrometers, test indicators, gauge blocks, and depth micrometers.

Must have a proven working background of machining experience.

Have exceptional machine programming skills.

Must be willing to continue education, ie., outside classes or any other additional training.

The Director of Engineering & Quality is responsible for managing all aspects of engineering in a manufacturing setting; including responsibility for the quality team and R & D activity.  Delivers a consistent method of Engineering Project Management across the group to ensure consistent execution resulting in output while retaining quality.  This role provides strategic oversight to the entirety of the R &D, Engineering & Quality operation with ownership of process improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, cost, and productivity within the operation.

 

The Director of Engineering & Quality is a collaborative leader position, responsible for seeing the big picture of the operation but also knowing the detail of the day-to-day operation.

 

• Lead two teams (engineering and quality) of experienced professionals

• Own continuous improvement efforts of engineering operation through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

QUALIFICATIONS
