Apprenticeship Program

At C&S Machine, our commitment to employee growth and development is a cornerstone of our success. Our certified Apprenticeship Program, certified by the Michigan Department of Labor, plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.

What is an apprenticeship?

What exactly is an apprenticeship? It’s a comprehensive training program designed to equip employees with valuable skills that lead to long-lasting and fulfilling careers.

What you get out of the program:

  • Training: Participants receive hands-on training from C&S professionals.
  • Pay Increases: Throughout the 4-year program, there are pay increases on a 6-month review cycle.
  • Journeyman Certification: Successful completion leads to Journeyman Certification awarded by the State of Michigan.
  • Career Advancement: The program provides opportunities for career growth.

How it works at C&S:

  • Application Periods: Interested candidates can apply during the Spring and Fall application periods.
  • Selection Process: The Apprenticeship Committee reviews applicants and selects those whose experience aligns with their motivation and readiness for the program.
  • Education: Apprentices benefit from a flexible curriculum, including virtual, self-paced learning, and in-person classes with partnered vendors. All tuition costs are covered by C&S.
  • Mentorship: Each apprentice is paired with a Journeyman, providing ongoing guidance throughout the four-year program.

Requirements:

  • Employment Status: Applicants must be a current full-time C&S team member for a minimum of 60 days.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be 18 years or older.
  • Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED

Co-op Program

At C&S Machine, our Co-op Program serves as a pathway for us to actively shape the future of our industry. We are continually seeking ways to make a positive impact for the next generation.

Who the program is for:

Students interested in learning more about machining and our industry.

How the program works:

We actively collaborate with local schools to engage students interested in industry careers

Students who align with our program are offered part-time employment with a flexible schedule that accommodates their schooling.

Students acquire practical hands-on experience and develop skills relevant to our industry.

Participating in our Co-op Program can lead to full-time C&S employment after graduation and serves as a foundational step toward our Apprenticeship Program.
