2nd Shift Janitor

SUMMARY

The Janitor is responsible for cleaning the entire facility and managing the inventory for all required cleaning materials and maintenance parts for cleaning equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Responsible for cleaning the bathrooms, which includes restocking all of the bathrooms.
  2. Emptying all waste baskets throughout the shop.
  3. Empty the metal shaving hoppers, as needed in the manufacturing area.
  4. Monitor shaving bins in the recycling area for full condition and notify Manufacturing Admin when it needs to be emptied.
  5. Sweep around the machines and the main floor area in the shop and then clean the floor with the scrubber, as well as, hand-mop around the machines daily. Sweep the loading dock area twice a week or as needed.
  6. Charge the scrubber and sweeper units, as needed. Clean the scrubber pick-up tank and clean out after each use.
  7. Scrubber and sweeper maintenance per the required schedule.
  8. Reports to personnel as described in the Company’s organizational structure.

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING


A high school diploma or G.E.D.


PREFERRED SKILLS AS FOLLOWS


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to communicate with internal personnel, as well as, customers and suppliers.  Must be able to read and understand the English language.


MATHMATICAL SKILLS


Able to perform basic math skills.


            REASONING ABILITY


Able to solve practical problems when they occur. 


COMPUTER SKILLS


Basic navigation skills needed.
